Beyond Shakha

Sangh work begins with shakha but it is not limited to just weekly shakha. It is said that actual Sangh work begins after shakha is over. Some activities that can be done in addition to weekly shakha:

Spreading awareness about Hinduism - reaching out to the campus community

  • Speaker on Campus
  • Hinduism Awareness Week
  • Participate in university culture fests, student activity fairs, etc.
  • Yoga workshop
  • Guru Vandana - program to honor professors
  • Programs for Diwali, Holi, Shivaratri, Ram Navami, etc.

Sewa - Giving back to the community

Personal Development

  • Leadership development camps
  • Youth conference, Yuva sangam
  • Vedic Math sessions

Team-building activities

Atmiyata, or a mutual feeling of oneness, is one of the most important aspects of our methodology. This camaraderie can be developed through informal interactions outside of shakha, such as:

  • Group trip to the temple
  • Picnic
  • Khel competition
  • Camping trips, hiking, rafting, etc

Beyond these, any activities that will contribute to our goals and fall into our ideology can be experimented with.
